i have a question does west indies come from india or the carribean my friends to know if im asian

1. West Indies refers to the area around the Caribbean.

OK, here is the history that a few of my West INDIAN friends told me: WHen England colonized India as well as countries in WI, after the blacks were freed from slavery, the English needed people to work in the farms and plow the land in West Indies. And at the time, Indians were known to be excellent farmers, so what the English did was they attracted the Indians to come to WI by telling them there were highly lucrative jobs open. The Indians surely agreed, and travelled down to West Indies. When they reached, they were instructed to work as farmers (highly disappointing...yes), and had no way to come back to India, so they just settled in West Indies. Eventually they populated. That's why many of the West Indians look like true Indians.
3. many indian ,chinese, syrian immigrants came to the Caribbean as indentured laborers then they settled in the caribbean islands soon after. hence the Jamaican motto ''out of many one people''. these different cultures help to make the Caribbean islands after all our ancestors came from different countries and different races but we are one people under God.
4. Your question is dubious. However, group of Islands around Caribean form West Indies which are in fact, diferent countries and sports, maibnly circket is their unifying factor. When the British colonised, they took people India(mainly), and Africa to work there and they settled there and formed the nucleus of their population. That's why some of the names appears/ sound lie Indian like Rohan Kanhai, Denesh Ramadin, Sarwan, Shiv Chanderpaul, etc.
